Heard of a vampire facial? This isn’t as scary as it sounds. Officially known as a Platelet Rich Plasma (PLP) facial, it involves a therapist taking some of your blood just like during a blood test. The plasma (liquid part) of the blood is separated and injected back into your face. Plasma is rich in growth factors and is used to plump up the skin, making it look years younger.

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) was originally developed as a laser hair removal treatment. It’s now also used to improve the appearance of age spots, freckles, sun damage and areas of increased pigmentation. These darker areas absorb the light from the laser and break down and discolour, leaving other areas of skin unchanged. It’s not completely pain free, but is likened to a rubber band being flicked onto the skin and is fine for most pain thresholds.
