If you're wanting a specialised haircut that offers a little more than just the usual trim, a barber is where you want to go. Especially if you're wanting shaved sides or a fade, this is their specialty. Some barbers also offer a facials shave, hot towel treatment and even a sneaky beverage to amplify the experience.

It depends on how quickly your hair grows, as well as how neat and tidy you want to keep your hair. Anywhere between two to three weeks is recommended, but some people opt for a tidy up even once a week. It depends on your preference and style.
