Whether its toes out season or not, the perfect pedi is always a treat and might even encourage you to wear open toes all year round! We’ve got salons up and down the country just waiting for your booking.
Strong and practical, or barefoot beach, there’s a pedicure with your name on it. But why stop at your toenails? Why not book in for a luxurious foot massage or relaxing foot soak? If you’ve got problems with dry skin on your pressure points, many of our salons offer callus peels too. Baby soft feet are oh-so made for sandals and the beach. If you do a lot of running, it’s vital to keep your feet in tip top condition, keeping your nails short and skin moisturised. A regular pedicure will keep your feet happy for miles and miles!
Most salons offer a traditional pedicure. They usually include a foot soak in soapy water to soften the skin on the feet, followed by a foot scrub with a natural pumice stone or a foot file. Whilst the ticklish among us might find this almost unbearable, the result is baby soft skin with no dry bits to catch on delicate hosiery or look unsightly in sandals. (And gent’s we’re looking at you here too, there’s no excuse for rough feet and long toenails.)
Your therapist will then file your toenails, usually into a neat square with no rough corners (or will clip them first, depending how long they are to begin with, gents…). They’ll probably sort your cuticles too, whilst your skin is nice and soft from the soak. Then comes the luxurious bit. Lay back and relax whilst you have a foot and lower leg massage, stimulating blood flow and making you feel amazing. Next you’ll need to choose your favourite colour for the therapist to paint onto your nails. Then you can leave with a hop, skip and a jump in your step with your beautifully shaped and painted toenails.
Pretty much the same as a classic pedicure, only using gel polish. A gel polish consists of a base coat, two coats of your chosen colour and a top coat, with a UV light to fix each coat for roughly 30 seconds. The gel is then well and truly set and you’re able to put your shoes back on straight away. No more shuffling to the car with miles of cotton wool twisted between your toes! Gel polish lasts for weeks, shiny, chip free and perfect. It will need to be removed by a professional though, no matter how tempting it is to peel it off. Peeling will result in uneven, flakey nails, not a great base for your next pedi.
Vital for the sporty among us. A specialist clinic sports pedicure will place more emphasis on the practical bits than the pretty bits. Focussing on massaging sore, tired muscles using crisp smelling essential oils and filing away calluses, a sports foot treatment will leave you with a definite spring in your step. One that isn’t down to your funky, bouncy, running shoes!
Think spa, think warm paraffin wax treatments to soften the skin, think warm towel wraps and aromatherapy massages. Some salons even have trained reflexologists to send you into such a deep relaxation that you’ll find it hard to leave.
So get your feet booked in for a pedicure at one of our salons today. They were made for walking after all. Or something like that.
