Whether you have back pain, neck pain or other musculoskeletal injuries, dry needling with acupuncture needles can be an effective part of your treatment plan.
Dry needling can help reduce muscle tension and pain levels and trigger a healing response in injured tissues within the body. As opposed to acupuncture, dry needling works directly on the injured body part, not meridian or energy flows. Back In Motion’s scientific GaitScan® assessment technology allows your physio to closely analyse your foot mechanics. This is done by measuring timing sequences, mapping foot pressure and providing an in-depth visual report that you can take home.
Using GaitScan®, your Back In Motion physiotherapist can then determine whether faulty foot function is the cause of your discomfort and whether custom orthotics will benefit you. If so, the results of your assessment are used to create custom orthotics moulded and manufactured specifically for your needs.

Our shockwave therapy is conducted by our qualified physios. It uses a pneumatically powered handpiece that generate radial shockwaves, which are transmitted to the site of the injury through a conducting gel.
The treatment session uses 2000-3000 pulsed shockwaves into the affected area and lasts approximately 3-10 minutes. Most patients will notice some pain relief immediately after therapy, others can take up to 4-5 sessions to achieve significant pain relief.
The body’s natural healing process continues after the prescribed course of shockwave therapy. Part of the treatment plan will also include advice on how to manage your condition and rehabilitation to strengthen the area, which will minimise the risk of re-injury.
Up to 92% of patients report significant improvement in their tendon pain after a course of shockwave therapy.
